Blog: Amnesty International launches legal action against UK

Human rights organisation Amnesty International has launched a claim against the UK Government over state surveillance of its communications.

The claim was announced yesterday by Amnesty International, which believes that the UK Government has undertaken unlawful, secret surveillance of its private communications.

Community: Jury service

Question: I have been selected for jury service but I cannot attend , what will happen if I don't attend jury service? Can you be jailed or just fined?

Discussion: If you have a good reason for not being able to attend, let the court know and they may well postpone it. If you don't tell the court or if they don't think you have a good reason, you could face a fine of up to £1,000.
