ico2Blog: SRA warns that ban on referral fees could be ineffective

The organisation which represents and regulates all solicitors in England and Wales has warned the Government that proposals to ban referral fees in personal injury cases may be ineffective.

The proposals were announced last year in a bid to stem the tide of what David Cameron called the "damaging compensation culture" whereby road users bring false claims for whiplash injuries after being involved in minor road accidents.

ico9Community: Use-by dates

Question: I bought milk today from Tesco and I got home, drunk some of the milk and found out the use-by date was the day before. What should I do? Can I sue the store?

Discussion: There isn't much you can do really. If you complain you might get some free milk, but if you weren't injured or seriously ill from drinking the milk you can't sue them. Although the health & safety people might have something to say about it.
